HiGarden Inc., a Canadian pioneer of innovative new organic food production technologies, is proud to announce that it has joined the Organic Council Ontario of Ontario , www.organiccouncil.ca, the voice of the province’s rapidly growing organic food sector.
Together with all of Canada’s dynamic organic food sector, HiGarden Inc. salutes Organic Week, www.organicweek.ca our national organic sector which runs from September 17-25, 2016, which features organic food events all across Canada.
Organic Week is organized by Canada Organic Trade Association, https://www.ota.com/canada-ota, Canada’s national body for organic food.
Currently, according to a COTA study, organics comprise 11% of Canadian grocery purchases, and 56% of Canadian say that they regularly buy organic products. While Canadian’s on average purchase $26.70 of organic food weekly, this rolls up to a total of $4.7 billion of organic food sales per year nationally.
Innovative technologies currenly being developed by HiGarden will enable the entire organic food sector to grow more rapidly, and will enable the provision of healthy nutritious organic food options to vulnerable populations including the isolated indiginous First Nation communities of Canada’s north.
HiGarden will participate in the Organic Council of Ontario’s Organic Day @ Queen’s Park on Wednesday, September 21 where important issues regarding this vital agricultural and food sector will be explored, shared and discussed.
